We're seeking an experienced GSE Maintenance Technician to join our growing team in Montreal. In this role, you'll apply your technical expertise to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of ground support equipment essential to airport operations. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where your skills directly contribute to the safety and efficiency of airport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on diverse GSE equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Interpret technical manuals and schematic diagrams for efficient problem-solving
- Conduct comprehensive safety inspections according to regulatory requirements
- Document all maintenance activities with precision in our computerized maintenance management system
- Respond quickly to service calls to minimize equipment downtime
- Collaborate with team members and airport personnel to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety standards
Qualifications
- High School diploma required
- Must have valid trade certification as one of the following:
- CPA Card: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level Mechanic
- Red Seal certification
- Automotive Service Technician, Commercial Transport Mechanic, or Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Proven knowledge of drive-trains, diesel and gasoline engines
- Experience with electrical and hydraulic system troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams
- Proficiency with diagnostic software and tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication abilities and customer service orientation
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance (RAIC)
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with GSE equipment maintenance, particularly:
- Mobile ground power units (generators)
- Aircraft air conditioning systems (up to 110 ton)
- Air start units (compressors up to 250 cfm)
- Metal fabrication and welding skills
- Advanced Fuel Injection & Diesel Engine Tune-Up certification
- Air Conditioning and Refrigeration certification
- Propane Fuel Systems certification
- Automotive Inspection certification
- Previous airport or aviation industry experience
- Current security clearance
- Bilingual (English/French) communication skills

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed
